Who we are...
Dr. Mike's Backstory
Mike Davis, Instructor/Writer
Born and raised in Texas, Dr. Mike is a product of the Texas public education system. After graduating from Eastwood High School (El Paso) in 1987, he earned his B.A. from UNT in 1991 and his Ph.D. in English from Princeton University in 2002.
As the son of a football coach, Dr. Mike understands the importance of solid fundamentals and practice when it comes to excelling in sports and academics alike. He’s partly a professor, partly a coach, and fully committed to seeing your students improve their performance on standardized tests.

Dr. Mike has over 20 years of classroom experience teaching in a wide range of communities (including hundreds of hours of in-person instruction in the developmental courses required for students who struggle with tests like the TSIA2). Whatever problems your students may be experiencing, Dr. Mike has seen them before and knows how to get them corrected - quickly.

Whether your students need help by the hundreds or by the handful, Dr. Mike's Stop Struggling series of workshops and workbooks will instill confidence and improve their performance on both sections of the TSIA2 as well as the SAT, PSAT, or ACT.
A formal CV is available upon request. Highlights include Cameron University Professor of the Year (2008) and the publication of Reading the Text That Isn't There: Paranoia in the Nineteenth-Century American Novel by Routledge Press (2002).
